Love Field Airport in Dallas, Texas has been doing business for 85 years. And, they must have learned how to do air travel right. In 2008, J.D. Power and Associates sent management a love note, announcing this airport was the highest rated field in the small airport category in the country. The high praise was given to Love Field for airport accessibility, security checks and facilities at this Dallas terminal.

Four major airlines, a host of commuter companies and three cargo carriers fly just over four million passengers each year to worldly destinations. This airfield is located only 12 blocks from the Dallas City Center, and is convenient for commercial and business flights alike.

The United State Army named this airfield in 1917, in honor of former air cadet Lieutenant Moss Lee Love. Love had been killed in a 1913 plane crash while training to be an aviator at the Signal Corps Aviation School. It became a new Army military field.

In 1929, Delta began flying passenger planes to and from Love on a regular schedule. By 1932, this airport had paved runways. In 1937 the first air traffic tower went into operation. By 1941, the field had Air Mail Freight operations. In 1958, the new terminal went into service. In 1967, American Airlines and Braniff Airways opened new terminal gates. Southwest Airlines began interstate air service in 1979. And in August, 2003 Love Field became a national historical site.

There are many attractions which draw tourists and business people to Dallas every year.
